Before you upload a bank statement anywhere: five privacy questions
What to check about any online bank statement converter before uploading a document with your name, address and account number on it.
A bank statement carries your full name, address, account number and a month of your financial life. Before uploading it to any converter, including this one, it's worth five questions.
1. Is the file stored after conversion?
The right answer is no, with a specific time. "Deleted after conversion" should mean seconds, not "within 30 days". Our answer: deleted before the download starts.
2. Is the content logged?
Some services log extracted text for "quality improvement". That's your transactions in someone's logs. Ours logs the bank name and whether the conversion succeeded, nothing from inside the file.
3. Do you need an account?
Every account is a record that can leak. A service that works without one holds less about you.
4. Who handles the payment?
Card details should go to a payment processor (Stripe, PayPal), never to the converter's own servers.
5. Is it used to train anything?
Chat-based AI tools often retain uploads for training unless you opt out. A purpose-built parser has no model to train.
What you can verify yourself
Read the privacy page for specific numbers, not adjectives. Download a sample output before uploading. Try the free conversion with an old statement first. If a site can't answer the five questions in plain language, that's the answer.
